Why travelling with Randocheval ?

TITLE

Famous for cities like Zadar or Dubrovnik, Dalmatia abounds in cultural stages but it is also wild landscapes with white rock and an incredible Mediterranean vegetation. Without forgetting the coast which is lined with numerous islands in a crystalline blue sea... Every days, you ride between 5 to 6 hours whatever the trail you choose: "Beetween earth and water", near Krka National Park. Stationary area trail around the ranch

ITINERARY

Day 1 - Saturday
Welcome to Split airport in the evening and transfer to our riding base (45 min drive). If you wish our guide can bring you to visit the town Sinj and the remains of the fortres the city, located at 3 km from the ranch. Dinner and introduction with your host. Dinner in the evening drinking wine from our own wineyards, and introduction with your host.

Day 2 - Sunday

After breakfast, you set off for a test ride to see if you are mached with the right horse. If you are not satisfied with your horse you can change it before you start the trail. You go to big fields of Sinj where you can gallop, since we will pass by the river you can swim in with your horse. After the ride you go back to the ranch where you are having lunch. Free afternoon. Dinner and night.

Today, we are riding up to the river Cetina where you are having a long gallop. It's a perfect place to gallop. After lunch we cary on riding and we are climbing up a  hill to the plateau named "Bitelic“. You will ride on the old Roman stone roads and enjoy the views on the mountaines Dinara and Svilaja that you are souranded by. The road will take you further to the lake Peruca where you can swim with your horse. After leaving horses by the lake and have a short break we will go back to the ranch by car ( 20 minutes). Dinner and handmade music played by your host for the evening !

Day 4 - Tuesday
On morning, we will drive you back to the lake where we will sadlle horses and move on up to the river following wakerside of the lake Peruca. After trotting and getting adrenaline pumping in a long fast gallop you will have a lunch by the river where you can refresh yourself. Moving on, we are crossing the river and enjoying a long gallop trough the lovely fields, which will take us to a little Croatian town named Vrlika whose beautiful forth is telling you amaizing stories about the rich history of this area. Dinner and overnight in a family house. After dinner we are going to explore Vrlika with our guide.

Day 5 - Wednseday

On the next morning, we use on foot path for climbing our way up hill the mountains trough village. Here, the view is amazing: beautiful landscape of wild nature,  rivers, fields and hills. then, we go down tio the valley where we will have lunch. On the afternoon, we will start our trotting, cantering and galloping way through stunning plantations of vineyards. After unsaddling the horses we will walk to our motel for the night, where we can refresh ourselves before to go to the restaurant where we will enjoy the Croatian cuisine with local wines.

Day 6 - Thursday

Today, we begin our adventure in the national park of Krka. While galloping we shall arrive at the village of Bristane to have lunch in a farm. The day on horseback stops today. In the afternoon, we leave thus by boat up to the island of Visovac which shelters the most important natural and historic monuments of Croatia as the franciscan monastery, the waterfalls formed by the river Krka, the lake... After the visit of a city and this breathtaking landscape we return to the farm where we lunched, for the dinner and at night.

Day 7 - Friday

After breackfast, we have our last ride through the wonderful Krka national park. We reach one of the most beautiful canion of the park and then, we pass by the forth of Kljucica which in dimensions and state of preservation is one of the most important fortified structuries in Croatia. After we get down into the canion we carry on with trotting and galloping. After lunch, we reach the enterance of the National Park Krka and it is also the end of this trail. Horses will be transfered to the ranch while you discover "Skradinski Buk“ waterfalls thanks to a network of paths and bridges that allow a comfortable and safe walk. If you want, you can enjoy swimming in the clean water or see a presentation showing the work done in the renovated water-mills of the Krka national Park. Last night in the ranch after a farewell dinner.

Day 8
Breakfast and transfer to Split airport.

STATIONARY AREA TRAIL AROUND THE RANCH

Day 1 - Saturday

After the lunch we are going by car to an old little romantic village where time has stopped long time ago. After the visit, we reach back to the horses, following a long gallop to the hill where you will be standed with the amaizing view on Sinj. Dinner and night at ranch.

Day 3 - Monday

This morning, we will ride along the forest trails to a village and hills. After our lunch, old tracks lead us all the way to the centre of the old romantic town Sinj and its historical monuments. On the way back we will visit Alkars stables and see their horses. Dinner and overnight at the ranch.

Today we are riding to the little village of Han where we will cross old stone bridge on the river Cetina to continue our way up to the mountains leaving behind us view on the valley. On the way, we discover villages and charming countryside... Lunch. In the afternoon, we will stop and refresh ourselves and the horses by a swim in clean water of Cetina river. We reach the ranch by galloping trough the valley of Glavice. Dinner and night at ranch.

Day 5 - Wednseday

After the breakfast, our ride make us enjoy landscape of wild nature,  rivers, fields and hills. We go down to the valley where we will have lunch. On the afternoon, we will start our trotting, cantering and galloping way through stunning plantations of vineyards. After unsaddling the horses we will walk to our motel for the night, where we can refresh ourselves before to go to the restaurant where we will enjoy the Croatian cuisine with local wines. Overnight.

Day 6 - Thursday

Today you will ride into to the heart of Dalmatia, across old villages where you will be riding on some old stone Roman's tracks and trough fields where you will have a long galloping and troting. We will have a lunch by the river after having crossed a bridge. Before going back into saddle, we can enjoy a swim. At the end of the day, we ride to get Dabar place, one of the most beautiful canyons of the Peruča lake. By the lake we are having dinner by the fire, listening a visper of the lake.You will spend your evening by the guitar and fire. Overnight in tents by the lake.

Day 7 - Friday

Wake up and breakfast with the first shinings of the sun reflecting on calm water of the lake. Our last journey will lead us trough old villages, on the stone ways... You will be charmed by the view on the rivers and valleys that are laying in front of you. After the lunch closed to river Rumin where you can refresh yourself in the cleanest water in the world, we go back to the ranch to have a farewell dinner with homemade wine and schnaps. Overnight at the ranch

Day 8
Breakfast and transfer to Split airport.

Important : Due to the weather or any other unforeseen circumstances, the routes and programmes may have to be adapted.

EXTEND YOUR TRIP

HORSES AND REQUIRED RIDING LEVEL

Horses We own 20 horses mixed from Croatian, English blood, Anglo Arab,  Croatian and Bosnian horses. they have a kind temperament, well trained, sure footed. They are very fit, forward going and fast but they know their job well. Tack English saddle. trail saddle or western saddle (please advice before your arrival if you want one). Saddle bags not provided, so you can take your own if required.

Recommended riding level
You need to be at ease at all gaits and have some experience in outdoor riding. You should be fit enough to spend 5 to 6 hours per day. On average day’s trekking will be 25-30km.

Useful information
Minimum age : 12 years old. Weight limit : 90kg
Non riders are not welcomed on this trail.

ACCOMMODATION

Accomodation The first three night and the last one are at the conranch located at 2 km from Sinj. All the comfort is there: internet access, television, playing field... During the trail, we spend one night in a 3 star motel and two nights in private family farming. Anyway, there is always a private bathroom (except one night). It's not possible to book a single, only double or triple rooms..

Arrival to Split.
Pick up and drop off is arranged in the best possible way to suit all riders. (45 min transfer). Transfers have to be paid directly (50 € / person).
