| Mont Saint Michel is one of these very rare places combining
both an impressive natural site and an almost perfect human creation.
UNESCO did not miss it, and the whole site is part of World Heritage. The contrast between the wide spaces of the Bay and the spiritual
beauty of the Abbbey is astonishing. During the crossing, you can
not help looking in the direction of this world famous outline towering
the Bay as a lighthouse. But you have to take care to what the guide is advising, as the
Bay, where tides are the strongest in Europe, is hiding dangers
that he will be able to avoid.
Having crossed salted rivers, it is time to enjoy one of the greatest
canters in you rider's life... only 3 hours and a half from Paris
! Those pictures have been taken during our inspection tour on Sept.
7th 2003.

PHOTO ALBUM OF OUR HORSE RIDING TRAIL
Arriving in this peacefull manor, you can not guess the great adventure
awaiting you !
The first miles on horseback are spent on smooth tracks, to get acquainted
with your new horse.
First ride in the Bay. You have to follow the security rules, especially
never follow another horse, walk, trot or canter on your own track.
The guide always checks the security of the itinerary you are following,
a few days before the trail, so that you always go on secured way through
the Bay, even if strong tides have taken the sand from places to others. It takes many years for a guide to know perfectly the complex natural
environment of the Bay, and only 3 guides in France can cross it on horseback
(of course, our guide is one of them !).
Even if tide is very low, you will have to cross many rivers, but the
guide makes sure that water is never deeper than 90 cm.
The horses you will ride are mostly French Saddle Horses (Selles Français),
Normandy being a famous breeding region for these sport horses.
The wide spaces, covered by a thin layer of water, are the occasion of
great canters... but of course we have no picture, as we were busy enjoying
them !!! These canters on these never ending spaces are one of the strongest
emotion a rider can experience.
Even if you have to be a confident rider, children can also cross the
Bay if their riding level is ggod enough.
When arriving at Mont Saint Michel, horses have to stay outside the ramparts.
Just the time for a visit of the Abbey, or an earthy pancake, and we have
to ride once again... the tide, here, has the reputation of coming "as
fast as a galopping horse", and nobody wants to check the legend
!
