A trip to Charros equestrian traditions, mexican cow-boys. It's the experience I had when I was in Mexico !
For once, this travel notes explain mainly accomodations since they are historical haciendas owned by the same families for years.
It's rare to be able to share, in so authentic way, the everyday life of families which open only rarely their doors. And it is Mexico where the love of the horse is transformed into a real lifestyle, far from clichés. We overnight in Haceinda Sepulveda and hacienda El Ahito, and we have lunch in many other haciendas that we discover day after day. We really enjoyed this trail with the luxury of hacienda Sepulveda and the authentic meetings with charros and owners. It's them who keep in live the traditions and the charros art of life with horses.

In this photo album I don't respect the itinerary. Firstly, I prefer to show you the hacienda where we stay more nights. This hacienda is amazing with all comfort : swimming-pool, spa... Each detail is carefully studied, in a magnificent synthesis of the traditional architectural and art of Mexico. We feel a big serenity and authenticity, due to the fact that everything here is not the fruit of the imagination of a creative decorator but the work of several generations. |

Stabbles are magnificient and horses are weel schooled according to Charros traditions. So we use traditional tacks and saddles. We ride on the property. Here the vegetation is really green with cactus and with huge yuccas. |

Hacienda San Rafael
Our guide is also owner of hacienda Serrano and make us discover other haciendas like San Rafael.
It's the same hacienda than 3 centuries ago, very warm and friendly.
 And butterlfies are very attracted by the trees of patio ! |

Hacienda El Ahito
Two first nights are spend in this hacienda, more simple but very well restablished.
That makes it very authentic.

Hacienda La Labor
Both following photos show the particularity of this hacienda.
It's a family of charreadas champions (traditional sport in charros world). Awards testify of the succes of this family, who welcome us to share their lunch like friends. After lunch, we can see horses on trainning and the owner grand son makes a show of lasso, his favorite excerice on competitions.

Hacienda La Estancia
This hacienda is owned by one of richest family of Mexico. We can visit it just thinks to our guide. It's a huge hacienda with private churches, big kitchen, saddlery like a horse museum. Everything here is incredible. |

On the ride from hacienda to hacienda...
While I thaught to find a desertic area, I'm really surprised by a green vegetationsometimes really iportant, the crossing of rivers... Landscapes are really pleasant for horse riding. And as we ride on the land of hacienda, we meet horses and cows in fields.
Nous nous prenons vite pour des charros mais... attention aux cactus !

IMPORTANT : a family with riders and non-riders is welcomed.
Non-riders could enjoy services at the hacienda Sepulveda, discover the property by themselves (on foot, by bike...) and begin horse riding with horses for beginners.
