On the borders of Swaziland, the Songimvelo Game reserve shelters one of the main governmental programs of conservation of the big White Rhinoceros with the State of South Africa. It is not rare to see 5 or 6 in the day on horseback!

Far from massive tourism, this reserve is only used for our riders and the walking rangers of the reserve. So no game drives, and no tourists are visiting this fantastic place.

Landscape there, are mountanous and absolutly magics, the reserve is crossed by the Komati river from side by side, providing a base for the hippos and the most important point is that the reserve is full of big herds of animals in order you have some everytime in your eyesight.

Here, you'll meet antelops, zebra, gnus, hippos, buffaloes, giraffes, rhinoceros and if you're lucky, you'll meet the big african elephant often hidden in the mountains.

Our guide will learn you everything about the reserve and his life. Great professional in horseback safari, he'll show you as close as possible animal's behavour.

Warning, this trail is for advanced riders because of fauna, but this is not our faster ride. The uneven ground doesn't allow a lot of canters, and the most part of time, horses will walk. Don't worry, you'll have some fast and long canter at Dawson Lodge and the most part of time in the evening when you come back to the camp.
