MOROCCO : EQUESTRIAN STAY IN A TRADITIONNAL DAR...

Discover Morocco between ocean and mountains! In the heart of a valley which invites serenity, you will discover on this itinerary, the wealth of the Berber traditions and you could take advantage of the local culture thanks to the regular meetings with the population. Every day, you will discover new landscapes in this region almost cut by the world: abrupt mountains, valleys of argan trees, exceptionnal beaches... A complete program for the lovers of moroccan horses and the nature... To share in family or between friends... The children are accepted from 15 years.

ITINERARY

Pick up at Agadir airport before 17:00pm. Meeting with the guides and transfer to the guest house (180 km).

Day 2 to 4

Discovery on horseback of the last foothills of Anti Atlas before the ocean. Real dumping in the heart of the Berber traditional life.
We ride day by day in this authentic region in the intact traditions far from beaten tracks.
We move from douars to douars, these famous olf farmhouse all more isolated from the others.
We shall meet Berber inhabitants on their donkeys as well as goat herds accompanied with their small guards.
We ride during these days in varied environments going fields of argan trees (production of argan oil) to cactus areas covered of prickly pears, by way of the oceanside and its beautiful beaches...
We maybe be lucky to see a take flight of partridges flock, to surprise a clutch of hawks, or still the wild boars delighting in prickly pears.
Every evening, we return for a copious traditional dinner elaborated with organic products of the domain, and for night in one of the pretty rooms of the guest house.
Approximately 5 to 6 hours on horseback a day.

Day 5
We begin our morning with an half day on horseback. After having taken advantage of our escapade by horse we leave for a visit of the Women of Mesti cooperative. It is a traditional place of the argan oil manufacturing.
Meal and night to the guest house.

Day 6
Today, we ride towards the amazing Legzira beaches and its majestic arcs.
We take our picnic near to the Amelou village before joining again the ocean for a canter. To take longer advantage of the ocean, we will spend the night in an hotel next to the sea.
Dinner and night to the hotel.
Approximately 5 to 6 hours on horseback.

Day 7
According to the tide, we go to the beach to have a gallop on the sand and a small bathing with horses before returning to our guest house for the dinner and night. On the road, we visit a little city called Ifni where we can buy our last gifts.
Approximately 2 to 3 hours on horseback.

Day 8
Transfers to Agadir airport for your return flight after 14:00pm.

HORSES AND REQUIRED RIDING LEVEL

Horses Horses used for the treck are Barb or Morrocan saddle horses. The equestrian center have only mares, all born in Morocco and they were specially educated for the trek and they will lead you safely in rocky roads and sandy beaches. Tack We use English saddles, and classic bridle.. Recommended riding experience We ask you to be confident at all paces. Indeed the rythm of the trek is with long trots and some canters. We do not hesitate on the most difficult ascents or slopes, on the rocky tracks, to dismount in order to let your companion get its breath back. Thus plan good shoes! The non riders are welcome on this destination, we propose them the stay in full board basis. Possible activities: Walk and Mountain bike.

YOUR GUIDES

Our guide Our guide speaks French and English, he is an instructor and has his state diploma. After a professional career in pharmaceutical industry and insurance, Catherine and Patrice decided to return to their main love, horses and to make you share their passion for horses and trek. Logistics A logistic car will transport your personal effects. Catherine assures logistic as well as meals in a particular happyness !

ACCOMMODATION

Accomodation The accommodation is made in a Traditionnal guesthouse called "Dar". We are in double room with private bathroom. Electric plugs are European so you don't need any adapter. We will spend our 6th night at an hotel next to the ocean. We do not propose a single room, however on the spot and according to the availability, we shall propose it to you free of charge. Meals The meals are made according to the Moroccan traditional cooking. The lunches will be served in the form of a picnic. In the evening you will eat in the guest house. The cooking is fresh, simple and Moroccan with organic vegetables of the domain.

PRACTICAL INFORMATIONS

The weather could be very hot, especially in summer.
During winter the weather is generally soft but as if we are next to the sahara, it could be rainy.
The day, temperatures could rise until 30 or 35 degrees but the nights can be quite fresh.
