The dream place for long canters on heavenly, unending and barren beaches of Bahia, night trails along the waterline with, for only lights, the moon and fireflies, but also visits in the tropical forest to Pataxos indian tribes, stops in traditional fishermen's villages and exploration of the huge land of buffalo farming...
The mild climate, all year long, of the region, and very comfortable accommodations are making this varied trail ride even more exceptional.

ITINERARY
Day 1
Arrival in Porto Seguro airport. Meeting and road transfer to our pousada (very comfortable local hotel) in Outeiro (approx. 2h30 drive). Welcoming and settling in our rooms before a meeting at the end of the afternoon for a presentation of the week to come and the region, by our guide.
Dinner and night at the pousada.
Day 2
After breakfast, we leave at 09:00 am by car for the stables, located one kilometer away from the sea. Everyone gets his horse for the week and we listen to the safety recommandations on a huge polo ground overhanging the ocean. Here we go for Jacuma beach to Barra do Rio dos Frades. We go through a swampy area and arrive at Itaporanga village where we visit the "Indian Native Village of Imbiriba", meet the Pataxo Indian and get the possibility of buying some of their handcraft. We stop for lunch in a typical local restaurant. After lunch, we visit "Elma's Forest Wood Design Project", a workshop in which huge trunks and stumps from the Amazon forest are transformed into varied furniture, directly carved in the piece of timber. Return to Outeiro on horseback in the afternoon, just on time for a swim before the dinner and the night at the pousada.
Day 3
To leave early in the morning, we have breakfast at 08:00am. We cross the Outeiro river to ride among the huge land of buffalo farming towards the beach and Trancoso. There, on the barren beach, we can enjoy a good canter near the waterline. Trancoso, where we stay tonight (in the hotel da Praca), is a typical village, built in 1586 by the Jesuits and appreciated by the Brazillian people for its beauty and authenticity. Its central square, covered with grass, named Quadrado, is a vestige of this era. We will have dinner and we can taste local cuisine tonight in one of the numerous restaurants around (meal not included). Night at the hotel.
Day 4
This morning, we leave at 09:00 for Caraiva. We pass through a fallen bridge, crossing through the land of buffalo farming again, but also through the bush and stop for lunch at our base in Outeiro. After lunch, we arrive on the huge beach of Caraiva. We are still 11 kilometers away from our night stop, so we can have many canters, paying attention to the small rivers flowing into the turquoise-blue ocean. The arrival at Caraiva, a small and ancient fishermen's village, is breathtaking : Caraiva River flows into the Atlantic Ocean. The river is broad and tumultuous surrounded with mangroves and crossed by all sorts of canoes and boats. On the other side of the river, small coloured houses hide themselves under high palm trees. We leave the horses at Andre's, a farmer, and cross the river by boat. Tonight, we are welcomed in the Pousada Cores do Mar and have dinner at the restaurant "French Man's Pizza Place" to sound of brazilian music.
Day 5
We leave at 09:00am towards the South and Corumbau village, 15 km away. Some canters away, go on to the Indian territory near Bara Velha. We go accross the village towards the cultural centre of the Taparuma reservation, Porto do Boi, nearby the bridge crossing the river. Our guide will take back the horses to the village while we have a short walk through the tropical forest to reach the river. Here, a boat is waiting for us to take us to Curuipe Beach where we find our horses back. We lead them swimming accross the river from our boat. They stay again at Andre's farm and we go back to the Pousada Cores do Mar to sleep after our dinner in the restaurant "Para".
Day 6
After breakfast, we leave for Outeiro along the beach on which we can canter. We have lunch at the pousada Outeiro and enjoy a free afternoon, during which we can rest on the beach or near the swimming pool of the pousada. If the moonlight is bright enough, we go for a night trail on horseback to the Cala Farm and end the evening by a dinner on the beach in Espelho, at the restaurant Baiano. Andre will take the horses back and we will go back on foot to the pousada.
Day 7
After a hearty breakfast, it is time to go back to the airport by car to take your flight back to your country.
