Far from the traditional images we have in mind concerning Norway, it's
a new face of the northern wildest european country we offer you to discover.
On brave Icelandic horses you'll ride trough conifer forest, cross the
land and rivers and step over the mountains of this magical setting.
At the north of the famous Fjord, in the heart of a very rich and varied
environment, you will spend all your stay in a comfortable hotel.
Built in the purest scandinavian style, white and red couloured on the
outside, totally equiped with wood furnitures in the inside....this establishement
is the base camp of your stay.
To unable everyone to enjoy his stay, groups are made in relation with
the riding skills of each.
So either you're looking for a dynamic or a more relaxing stay, you'll
find it in Norway !

ITINERARY
Day 1 - Monday
Meet at Hjerkinn railway station for transfer by the end of the afternoon.
Installation at the hotel for the dinner and the night. Time to meet
the other riders and the guides.
Day 2 to 6 - Tuesday to Saturday (more detailled progamm to come soon)
- Tuesday:
Today is a "test day", to get in contact with your new
compagnion, the Icelandic horse. Its height, its bravour, the special
tack used and its singular gaits as the Tölt make a unique
horse of him!
After lunchbreak, you leave for a three hours ride.
- Wednesday:
Three hours ride along the "wonderland" lake.
Lunch at the hotel and afternoon off, the occasion for you to explore
the surroundings or to relax at the hotel.
- Thursday:
Entire day out, and if the weather is good, you'll ride into the
area where the muskoxes live.
- Friday:
Half daytrip to "Sautjønn", where you may swim
with your horse...
Lunch at the hotel and afternoon off.
- Saturday:
Entire day out lasts till about 4.30 pm.
Sunday
Half day trip to Professorhøa.
Lunch at the hotel before departure. You'll have time to take a
shower and pack your bag after lunch.
Transfer to Hjerkinn railway station.

Horses
There is only Icelandic horses, very gentle and confident.
The Icelandic horse is world-famous for his gait, the tölt, fast
and comfortable, that allows to cover long distances without tiredness |

It is not necessary to be a very experienced rider, as groups willbe
made according to your riding skills.
This ride is open to riders from 10 years old.
The maximum weight is 110 kg.
The maximum height is 2.00 m

YOUR GUIDES
You will be guided by a professional guide
living in Norway with his horses, and who knows by heart his country.
You will descover his native land in security both you and horses.

GROUP SIZE
From 1 rider to 30 (groups are formed according to the riding level of each
rider)
ACCESS
Oslo airport and then train to Hjerkinn, appr. 4 hours from Oslo.

CLIMATE
The climate is temperate, and the severity of winter along the coasts
is moderated by southerly air currents brought in above the waters of
the North Atlantic Drift, which is warmed by the gulf stream.
Summers are relatively cool throughout the country; rainfall is high everywhere,
most of all on the coasts, of course.
Formalities
Check with your local Embassy according to your nationality.
Vaccines-Health
No specific vaccination, we recommend you to be up to date concerning
your usual vaccinations, in particular for the tetanus vaccine.
Remember that a repatriation travel insurrance is compulsory.
