Our itinerary is flexible as the tide levels in Vilanculos play an important part in where and what time we ride. Our activity day changes according to the weather and when the visibility will be best for scuba diving. At all time during the safari we will have a power boat available as backup and safety for our clients. The boat will be used to transfer clients from the lodges to the horses as well as bringing supplies and taking clients who need a break from riding. |

YOUR GUIDES
Pat traces his ancestry back to the Von Munchausen family and his great grandfathers riding stable ‘Uncle Toms Cabin’ in Berlin which produced several top Olympic horses. Due to political instability and Hitler’s rise to power the family left Pankow, Berlin for a farm in German East Africa in 1932.
Patrick spent his early years on the family farm learning to ride. When Tanzania gained independence the family moved to Rhodesia where Pat grew up and married Amanda Jane Whitefield. They raised three kids in Mashonaland where they farmed for over 25 years. The family was then forced to flee the country by Robert Mugabe and the political turmoil he was causing in Zimbabwe.
 |
Pat & Mandy moved across the border to Mozambique and with them came over a 100 horses which they had rescued from farms throughout Zimbabwe. Struggling to look after the horses they set about creating a horse safari that would open up horse riding to the people of Mozambique and ensure the survival of their horses. |
