For this extension you stay on the inhabited islands, and you visit various interesting points of these islands where the cruises are used to off-landing. The transfers of 2 hours between islands are made in power-driven canoe of a capacity of 20 passengers.

Day 1: Quito - Baltra - Santa Cruz
(Replace the last day of the trail - a day of transfer for the airport)
Breakfast. Transfer to Quito airport and flight for Galápagos. You arrive at Baltra, and be transfered in ferry on the island of Santa Cruz then until Puerto Ayora, in the South of the island (approximately 1:30 of transfer). You settle in the hotel and have a lunch. Departure for the tour of the Bay and the beach. After 20 minutes of navigation you walk past Punta Estrada where is "La Lobería" with possibility of making snorkelling with the sea lions. Continuation towards "Tortuga Bay", with its white sandy beach, where you can see several marine species as lines, young sharks appropriated of the system of mangrove swamp. Possibility of bathing, then walking in the site of nidation of the iguanas marine. Return in Lodge where you enjoy a welcome cocktail. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Santa Cruz - Floreana
After the breakfast, departure by bus to visit the high lands of Santa Cruz for observing the twin craters " Los Gemelos ", which racked themselves by collapse of the ground. You enjoy a small walk in the forest of Scalesia for, if you are lucky, observing the bird wizard. Then you visit a reserve of huge turtles in its natural environment. Lunch at Lodge. In afternoon, transfer to Puerto Ayora where a motorboat will take you on the island Floreana. After two hours of navigation, you arrive at Puerto Velasco Ibarra and transfer to the lodge. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3 : Floreana - Isabela On morning, you visit the high part of the island: the center of breeding of turtles, the cave of the pirates, and the haven of peace where you will discover various species of birds. This island was the first one colonized by the man. At about 11:00 am transfer by motorboat to Isabela island. You arrive finally at Puerto Villamil and transfer to the lodge for the lunch. On afternoon, departure by boat towards a series of islands in front of Puerto Villamil. You can walk on a path of fresh lava of some hundreds of years and go near a channel where we see several sharks having a rest : "Tintoreras". You leave then on foot towards a marine colony of iguanas in the village. You will also have the opportunity to see the colony of auks which is settling down to Puerto Villamil near the blue-legged birds. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4 : Isabela - Santa Cruz
Departure towards the " wall of tears ". This immense stony wall of lava built by prisoners in 1948 is at 5 kilometers from the village. This wall was built with volcanic stones by prisoners sent on the island. You visit the belvedere of Cerro Orchilla, from where we can see the volcanoes of the island in activity. Then, you visit the Center of breeding where we can see the breeding of the huge turtles, from the egg to the adolescence, before their release in the high lands. Before the lunch, transfer by boat to Santa Cruz siland. Lunch at the hotel. On afternoon, you visit the Charles Darwin's station. It's a modern center of studies situated a few kilometers away from Puerto Ayora, on the banks of Academy Bay, which welcomes the scholars of the whole world. Day 5 : Santa Cruz - Baltra - Quito or Guayaquil
After the breakfast, transfer to Baltra airport for your return flight by Quito or Guayaquil.

From Quito, we fly to Galapagos Islands. Located about 1000 km from the coast, classified National park, this islands are a real open-air museum, populated with unique animals to the world ! You discover them according to waves, by staying aboard a boat welcoming up to 100 passengers and which proposes all the necessary comfort.

According to your departure date and the duration of the cruise, we propose you various itineraries allowing you to discover the most beautiful attractions of the Galapagos: its fauna with iguanas, sea lions, huge turtles or blue-legged birds, but also its landscapes with white sandy beaches, lagoons or the volcanic landscapes... For the accommodation, we have choosen the Legend boat which was recently renewed. Here are the possibilities of cruise with the days of operation : - 4 days / 3 nights : from Monday to Thursday - 5 days / 4 nights: from Thursday to Monday   Generally speaking, the first day, you take a flights between Quito and Baltra in the morning to be able to take advantage of the afternoon aboard the boat and to begin your discovery of islands. The last day, the morning is dedicated to the visits and the other activities to take advantage of last moments on islands. The transfer to the airport is planned in the afternoon for your return flight by Quito or Guayaquil. Beware : Those cruises are really popular and, according to periods, can be fully booked months in advance.

EXTEND YOUR TRIP IN AMAZONIA

Going through Amazonia had almost always a character of legend. Here, this immense luxuriant forest is sprayed with several rivers and with many rivers which go down high Andean lands and flow towards the Amazonian pond. It is populated with various ethnic groups in the very diversified cultures (Huaoroni, Shuar, Secoya, Siona), with whom you will discover this great forest.

Day 1 : Quito - Papallacta-Baeza - Amazonia
(Replace the last day of the ride - a day of transfer for the airport)
Breakfast then transfer to Quito airport where your guide will wait for you to follow your journey. Departure towards the village of Papallacta at 60km of Quito. The village snuggles up in a great landscape of rocks and waterfalls. Crystal clear waters of the lagoon were imprisoned by a lava flow stemming from Antisana, a beautiful volcano with its snowy dome situated in about 15 kilometers. 3300 meters in height, in the middle of the clouds of mountains, you can have a bath in thermal waters of Papallacta. Its minerals and high temperatures between 35 and 64°C get them a curative power of which the Termas de Papallacta hotel knew how to take advantage. Lunch in the restaurant of the hotel. It is an experience among the most fascinating to leave the high Andean lands to be a few hours later in 300m of height in full rain forest. Day 2 : Amazonia
Breakfast and first sunrise on the Amazonian forest : everything is enigmatic … you begin the visit of the primary forest. An extraordinary fauna, a flora in colors and forms without similar, Amazonia has nothing of a " green hell ". Paradise enclosing vast wild regions, Amazonia is noisy of animals, papered with rare plants and with places not mentioned on the current maps of the country. For this day we propose you some options which you will chose with your guide according to your expectations (two excursions ; one in the morning and the other one in the afternoon). Lunch included. Return in the lodge late in the afternoon. Dinner and night at the lodge.
Here are the possibilities of excursions :
- Misicocha : first contacts with the luxuriant vegetation of the Amazonia. The guide will teach you how to reconize plants...
- Balsa : you can build your own raft by means of the native guide, to go down then the river Napo to Casa del Suizo. (1 hour)
- Visit of a native family : in the native community, the most important and educated man is called Shaman. Demonstration of the use of the blowpipe, and elaboration of the chicha, the traditional drink. (2 hours)
- The island: you can discover the farming of the area, the traditional cultures and the medical plants used by the natives. Discovery of insects and birds of Amazonia.
- Lavado of Oro-orpailleurs: if the river is convenient, you can do a small route in canoe on Napo to observe the work that realizes for decades the gold-diggers.
- Cosano : after the breakfast, early departure on the morning by canoe for 25 minutes which brings us to the reserve Cosano on the river Arajuno. Walk for about 2 hours in primary forest where a local guide explains you the details of the fauna and the flora of the region. On return, you can bath. For the adventurers, buoys will be available for return on the river Napo.

- Rio Rodriguez : this excursion lasts a whole day. Early departure on the morning go down the river Napo (about 25 minutes). Upon your arrival, you can bath and make a picnic. On the way back, you can walk in primary and secondary forest with a native guide who will give you explanations onto the fauna and the local flora. Return it canoe.

- Visit of the association Quichua: Every family can benefit from a plot of land which allows them to settle down and to live on the farming as the harvest of the yuca, the bananas, the cacao and sweetcorn. The hunting, the fishing and the tourism come to complete the activities of the inhabitants. The visit includes presentation of the Association, explanation of the elaboration of the chicha and the tasting, the presentation of the traditional music group kichwa and of the group of dance of children, explanation of the preparation of typical dishes of Amazonia with tasting, explanation of the elaboration of the blowpipe and its use, and sale of handcrafts.

Day 3 : Amazonie - Puyo - Baños - Ambato - Quito

You raise the Mountain range to Puyo where you can visit a store of objects of balsa wood. Continuation by this vertiginous road of the Canyon of Pastaza and path of waterfalls until Baños. then, you stop in a distillery of "Amazonian" rum in Puyo and tasting. If you wish it, you can have a walk of 45 minutes to reach the site of the Pailon del Diablo, " the cauldron of the devil " where an impressive waterfall pours in a crack in an unreal crash. For the most rash you will have the possibility of crossing in tyrolean the Canyon of Pastaza. Arrived at Baños, this charming town situated in 1800 meters in height, in a subtropical area. The city enjoys a pleasant climate and pulls its name of waters which spring from depths of the volcano. Quick tour of the city: the church, the workshops of plant ivory objects, the pedestrian streets where you will meet numerous traders of " melcocha " (marshmallow of sugar cane)... Lunch in a local restaurant and road to Quito. Arrived late in the afternoon and installation at the hotel. Free dinner. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4 : Quito - Departure
After the breakfast free morning and transfer at the airport according to your return flight.
